Understanding The Birthing Process

"Do you even understand the birthing process?"

As a birth photographer, there's good chance you’ve been asked this question. And more than likely, you've attended at least one birth, so of course you “get” the birthing process. But, the truth is, it’s a multi-faceted, completely unpredictable event. (Well, okay, the professionals are trained to predict a few things.) There are so many elements that come together to create each individual’s unique birth experience.

We have witnessed over 100 births and we have learned something new at almost every one of them.

If you’re diving in deep to the concept of running a birth photography business, it should go without saying that you need to know birth as well as you possibly can. Below are some of our favorite resources that, by sourcing them, will get you on a fast-track of gaining knowledge you probably didn’t even know you needed.

What's that they say? "You don't know what you don't know!"
